PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The Ruling Family claims descent from Abdul Munaf of the Qureshi tribe in Arabia. The predecessor state was founded in 1333 by Jam Umar Khan, it was followed by the Kathuria Dynasty around 1742 and was merged into Pakistan on 17th March 1948. Mir Haji Jam Sahev Sir ALI KHAN III K.C.I.E., Jam Saheb of Las Bela 1871/1877 and 1888/1896, born 1849, he succeeded to the gadi on 21st January 1889 (#1), he was created a Companion of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) on 1st January 1878 and elevated to a Knight Commander of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire (K.C.I.E.) on 2nd January 1893, he is entitled to a salute of 9 guns as a personal distinction; married and had issue. He died 14th January 1896.

Mir JAMAL KHAN C.I.E., Jam Saheb of Las Bela 1896/1921 (abdicated), born 1872, he succeeded to the gadi on 14th January 1896 on his father's death; he was created a Companion of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.), married (div. 1920), the daughter of Mir Wali Mohammed Khan Mengal, and had issue. He died 1921.
