PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The Taluka, a Fifth Class State, is an offshoot of the Rajkot state. Ranmalji, the Thakur Saheb of Rajkot had four sons of whom Vajeraji, the 2nd son received Gadhka, but Vajeraji's son died without any male issue and so the the Gadhka Taluka was inherited by the 3rd son of Thakur Saheb Ranmalji of Rajkot, Akherajji, who had also formerly received Makhawad. The taluka follows the rule of primogeniture for succession. The Jurisdictional powers of the state are: Criminal - two years rigorous imprisonment and fines up to 2,000Rs, Civil - to the extent of 5,000Rs. Rulers were....
