PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The Thakore Sahebs rank as Fourth Class Chiefs and claim descent from the Chauhan Rajputs of Sambhar or Ajmer (see Jalore Kingdom), and are said to have received the grant of Ambliara in the reign of Emperor Aurangzeb. They are famous for the obstinate resistance they have more than once made to the Gaekwad's troops. They are tributary chiefs, and pay the Gaekwad ruler Rs 316 per annum as ghasdana.
