The competitiveness and success of the Native Chicken Technology will be the highlight of this year’s first-ever Farms and Industry Encounters through Science and Technology Agenda (FIESTA) in April 2022. It is a month-long celebration with fun-filled activities, stories to inspire, and readily available technologies from the three strains/breeds of native chicken: Darag, Boholano, and ZamPen. This year’s theme, “PADAYON: Sustainable economy amidst pandemic through native chicken technology” also focuses on the resiliency of the technology in the agricultural industry of the country.
The FIESTA is one of the banner programs of DOST-PCAARRD spearheaded by the Applied Communication Division (ACD) in collaboration with Western Visayas Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (WESVAARRDEC), Western Mindanao Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (WESMAARRDEC), and Central Visayas Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (CVAARRDEC).
