Now that the review of the 27 monuments is complete and shipped off to the White House, it is time to take a look at all of the issues threatening our public lands, especially our National Parks and Monuments.
I've been to many of these special places, but I will be supplementing this series with photos from other sources, too. Of course, I'd love to spend the year on the road visiting many of them myself, but that just isn't possible right now!
While the final report does not call for the elimination of any of the 27, it is impossible to tell what will happen when President Trump acts on the recommendations. Our monuments are still in danger, and this whole process, and other actions by this administration and Congress, are putting our public lands in jeopardy.
The fight is not over. In many ways, it is just beginning...
