orientation and team formation
This week, I attend a meeting whit a advisor and teammates to discuss our project objectives. we focused on preparing for the project by strategizing and aligning our goals for tasks ahead.
week 2
Submission of project idea
We choose for our Project: Eco-Wise Smart Solution Kiosk for Plastic Waste and Recycling
Submitted the project proposal for the Eco-Wise Smart Solution Kiosk.
The project aims to revolutionize plastic waste management by integrating smart technologies for waste classification, collection, and recycling. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for Responsible Consumption and Production, fostering an eco-friendly and circular economy.
Await feedback from our advisor Dr. Ibsa Neme on the proposal and revise as needed.
week 3
Project Idea Refinement
Held a brainstorming session to evaluate and refine the Eco-Wise Smart Solution Kiosk concept.
Enhanced the project scope to include a user-friendly interface with gamification elements, encouraging greater public engagement.
week 4
Planning and Task Division
Finalized the technical framework for the Eco-Wise Smart Solution Kiosk.
Conducted research on plastic detection technologies and automated sorting mechanisms.
Identified key components, including image recognition systems for plastic detection, IoT modules for connectivity, and user incentive mechanisms.
week 5
Focused on developing the theoretical aspects of the project, including waste classification and storage, while awaiting feedback on the proposal to address revisions and prepare for the design and prototyping phase.
week 6
Estimate material requirements for the prototype to ensure affordability, initiated backend development focusing on plastic detection algorithms with plans to integrate Firebase for data storage, and collaborated with the civil engineer to plan the kiosk’s installation, identifying necessary tools and equipment.
week 7
Progressed on backend development by refining the plastic detection, began designing the kiosk's interface with real-time user interactions for accurate calculations, and worked on finalizing the backend integration with the kiosk interface.
week8
Submission of Progress Report
Compiled and submitted a comprehensive progress report, highlighting the project's milestones and ongoing advancements. The report outlines the system's functionalities, technological integrations, and future development plans
