I started drawing at the not-so-young age of 9 or 10. I would often draw things from the cartoons I watched. One of the first cartoons I can remember watching regularly was Adventure Time created by Pendleton Ward. I would often draw the swords that Finn, the main character of the series, would use to take down enemies. He had many swords over the course of the show and I drew them all. However, when the show finally ended after around 10 seasons, there were no more swords. In reality he had stopped receiving additional swords prior to the show’s ending. This is where my creativity started, where I would start to deviate from the swords I drew.
These days, I don't only draw swords. I specialize in character artwork and I am practicing nature backgrounds. I draw digitally and traditionally and switch between the two often, I tend to opt for traditional inking and digital coloring. I feel recently my digital linework has gotten much better. My female anatomy artwork is lacking compared to my male anatomy, most likely due to the fact that I have a male body. But it is getting better with time, I recently did a piece of one of my own original female characters that I’m quite proud of.
My art is what you could call 'anime style'. I feel it is much more realistic than say Pokémon or My Hero Academia, coming closer to titles like One Punch Man and Berserk. One of my biggest inspirations is from a lesser-known manga called Sun-Ken Rock. It has an incredibly realistic style that I hope to one day be able to recreate. I also hope that if my name ever blows up this particular website will be seen and that my manga will get more publicity.
One Punch Man holds a dear place in my heart, it is the first anime I really go into and enjoyed. It was my real introduction to anime and manga. Titles I drew inspiration from; Hunter x Hunter and its incredible characters and moral dilemmas, Attack on Titan with its amazing world-building and foreshadowing, One Punch Man with its superb humor, and Berserk with its gritty world and characters have all helped to inspire me to do recreations of their art and also create a manga of my own.
The first chapter of my manga is currently underway, it is a chapter I'm putting my all into so it will take longer than the next chapters to come. My commissions will always come first so I am able to generate funds and skills to fuel my personal project next. I don't want to say too much about my manga yet. I would rather people experience it themselves with their own perceptions once I’m finished. I will say all of the titles I've mentioned have played a huge role in shaping the story. I've been working on this story for 3 years in my head.
I've never sold commissions but I'd like to start here. My pricing is on the 'Pricing' page and my examples are on the 'Recent Artworks' page. I’m open to other ideas to challenge my skills and hopefully earn something doing what I love.
