I am from Southern California and have been raised near the beach my whole life. Growing up with the ocean just a short drive away, I’ve always loved spending time with friends on the sand, playing soccer, and soaking in the sun. Moving across the country has been a big change, and honestly, it’s been tough at times. But I truly believe that what God has in store for me is bigger.
I came all the way to Florida to be part of the UCF Women’s Soccer team, and it has been an incredible journey of learning to balance school, training, and the busy soccer schedule. Despite the challenges, I am grateful for the lifelong friendships I have made, the experiences I’m gaining, and the growth I see in myself every day.
I have always loved writing and because of that English has always been my favorite subject. This year a little different than others, I have learned and grown so much already. Over the course of this semester, I have grown significantly both academically and as a writer. I have developed a deeper understanding of how to effectively communicate my ideas, support my arguments with evidence, and reflect critically on my experiences. I am now more confident in my writing ability, knowing how to organize my thoughts clearly and revise my work to improve its quality. Academically, I have learned to approach assignments with greater purpose and to connect my personal experiences with broader concepts and texts. As a writer, I have become more authentic and intentional in my voice, and I understand the importance of reflection and revision in the writing process. Overall, I see myself as a more thoughtful, resilient, and capable learner, ready to take on future challenges with the skills I’ve developed this semester.
