Symposium on Narrative Blending and Scientific Communication

The Symposium on Narrative Blending and Scientific Communication was held in the Cognitive Science Department of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland/OH, USA, on April 26 2019, from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.

It was an event organized by Professor Rosana Ferrareto <https://sites.google.com/view/rosanaferrareto>, from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Sao Paulo, Brazil, who spent the year 2018/2019 as a visiting PostDoctoral researcher in that department under the supervision of Dr. Mark Turner.

There were five talks by linguists from Brazilian Universities about how cognitive operations such as image schemas, frames and metaphor labor together under blending to construct a narrative structure in scientific texts.

The CogSci Department Faculty - Professors Mark Turner, Todd Oakley, William Deal, Vera Tobin and Fey Parril - were the respondents to the talks.
