Our research
At the Advanced Pharmaceutical Materials Laboratory (APML), we aim to contribute to the development of targeted therapeutics, advanced drug delivery systems, molecular imaging, and Next-Generation Drugs through innovative, nanotechnology-driven pharmaceutical materials research.
Our multidisciplinary approach integrates biomedical engineering, medicine, pharmacy, and materials science to develop innovative therapeutic strategies and advanced drug delivery platforms. By leveraging nanotechnology and functional biomaterials, we aim to enhance treatment efficacy and promote patient-centered solutions through smart, long-acting formulations.
APML primarily targets intractable diseases such as cancer and age-related disorders, with a particular emphasis on ocular conditions that are becoming increasingly prevalent in super-aged societies. To meet these clinical needs, we are developing functional nanoparticles, antioxidant-based materials, and biopharmaceutical agents for precision-targeted therapies.
Through active collaborations with leading universities, research institutes, and industry partners both in Korea and abroad, we pursue cutting-edge research and cultivate creative, convergence-driven talent equipped to adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of medical technology and emerging innovation.
