Prof. Briand holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Ottawa. He also the Director of the Research Ireland Lero Centre for Software Research. He is an IEEE Fellow, an ACM Fellow, and is the recipient of the IEEE CS Harlan Mills Award and ACM SIGSOFT Outstanding Research award. Further, he is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and Academia Europaea, the European Academy of Science. He has 30 years of experience in collaborative research with industry, including the automotive, aerospace, satellite, financial, and legal domains. He is currently heading the Nanda lab.
