ประวัติความเป็นมา

หอศิลป์ริมน่าน เป็นแหล่งเผยแพร่งานศิลปะร่วมสมัยและแหล่งเรียนรู้ด้านศิลปะที่สำคัญแห่งหนึ่งของประเทศไทย ตั้งอยู่บนพื้นที่ 13 ไร่ โอบล้อมด้วยทิวเขา ติดถนนหลักสายน่าน-ทุ่งช้าง กิโลเมตรที่ 20 ทิศเหนือและทิศตะวันออกติดแม่น้ำน่านจึงเป็นพื้นที่งดงามสะดวกต่อการเดินทางเข้าเยี่ยมชม เปิดอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อวันที่ 20 เมษายน 2547

สถานที่จัดแสดงงานศิลปะร่วมสมัยแห่งนี้ก่อตั้งขึ้นด้วยแรงบันดาลใจและวิสัยทัศน์ของศิลปินชาวน่าน วินัย ปราบริปู ผู้ศึกษาศิลปะจากมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรสถาบันชั้นเยี่ยมทางศิลปะ ภายหลังที่ใช้ประสบการณ์ชีวิตดลุกคลีกับวงการศิลปะอยู่กรุงเทพฯกว่า 25 ปี รวมทั้งมีโอกาสศึกษาดูงานศิลปะสำคัญ ๆ หลายแห่งบ่อยครั้งทั้งในทวีปยุโรปและสหรัฐอเมริกา

หอศิลป์ริมน่านก่อตั้งขึ้นด้วยทรรศนะและวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้เด็ก เยาวชน และประชาชนในจังหวัดเล็กๆควรได้มีโอกาสสัมผัสศึกษาเรียนรู้งานศิลปะอย่างกว้างขวาง ทั้งผลงานของศิลปินระดับชาติ ศิลปินชั้นเยี่ยมเช่นเดียวกับเด็ก เยาวชน และประชาชนในกรุงเทพฯ และมหานครในต่างประเทศ และเป็นสถานที่ต้อนรับผู้มาเยือนจังหวัดน่านดินแดนที่บริบูรณ์ด้วยธรรมชาติอันบริสุทธิ์ เชื่อมโยงกับศิลปกรรมของเมืองน่านที่โดดเด่นและเป็นที่ภูมิใจของชาวน่านมาช้านาน ซึ่งหน่วยงานองค์กรทุกภาคส่วนของประเทศจะได้ตระหนักถึงคุณค่าของศิลปะที่มีต่อชีวิต โดยร่วมกันส่งเสริมสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้ และเผยแพร่งานศิลปะต่อไป

ปัจจุบันหอศิลป์ริมน่านมีอาคารแสดงนิทรรศการศิลปกรรมร่วมสมัยหนึ่งหลัง เพื่อส่งเสริมสนับสนุนให้ทั้งศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ผู้มีความประสงค์เผยแพร่ผลงานทั้งกลุ่มและเดี่ยว จึงตัวให้เกิดกิจกรรมนิทรรศการศิลปะ ปีหนึ่งจึงมีประมาณ 10-12 ครั้ง รวมทั้งมี “เฮือนหนานบัวผัน” ซึ่งจัดนิทรรศการภาพถ่ายประวัติจิตรกรรมฝาผนังเมืองน่าน และยังมีพิพิธภัณฑ์พื้นบ้าน “เฮือนพญาผาบ” จัดแสดงของเก่าต่าง ๆ ซึ่งในยุคปัจจุบันหาชมได้ยาก

Nan Riverside Arts Space is an outstanding center for the arts located on 13 rai on the banks of the Nan River founded in 2004 by the well-known Thai artist, Winai Prabripoo.

Originally constructed as the owner's residence and art studio, Khun Winai later develped the land in harmony with its natural setting and later constructed a large building to house his extensive art collection and personal work of the past 30 years. The setting is ideal, not only because of the aesthetic qualities of the landscape with its varied photography and vistas, but also for its convenience by local transportation from Nan City.

In addition to the main gallery, there is a smaller gallery, a shop, caf, and information center, and importantly, Heun Nhan Buaphan (Nhan Buaphan House). Heun Nhan Buaphan houses a permanent photo exhibition of the acclaimed painted murals that are characteristic of the Nan School of painting. In this gallery, Khun Winai aims to relate the history of these murals from Nan's past to its present. Khun Winai's comprehensive study of the murals offer us fascinating stories of the life of the muralist Nhan Buaphan, his masterpieces, his inspirations, and his influences on Nan's contemporary artists.

Nan Riverside Art Gallery is located on the Nan-Thung Chang Road (at Km. 20) between the Muang and Thawangpha Districts of Nan Province, easily accessible by car or public transportation.

Be sure to make the time to visit and enjoy the excellent collection of art by well-known contemporary Thai and some foreign artists in the ed main gallery, the historically important Heun Nhan Buaphan as well as the rare and beautiful landscape in which they are located. You will be delighted and refreshed.
