Now Me — Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Now Me ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the Now Me application.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Full name, email address, and date of birth when registering
- Profile picture, cover photo, bio, display name (tag name), and city
- Post content: text, images, mood tags, and visibility settings (public / anonymous / friends only)
- Messages sent through the chat feature
2.2 Information from social login
If you sign in via Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your email, name, and profile picture from that provider.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- In-app activity data: interactions with your emotional tree (watering, fertilizing), mood journal entries, and daily streak records
- Push notification token: device token (via OneSignal) to deliver notifications
- Approximate location: only when you use the "Nearby Users" feature and grant location permission
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the features of the application
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account
- To display a Feed tailored to the visibility settings you choose
- To send push notifications related to your activity (can be disabled in device settings)
- To improve user experience and develop new features
4. Data Security
- End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): All chat messages are encrypted using a public/private key pair. We cannot read the content of your messages.
- Passwords: Hashed using bcrypt before storage. We never store passwords in plain text.
- Authentication: Uses JWT (JSON Web Token) with a limited expiry period.
- Data in transit: All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in the following cases:
- Service providers: OneSignal (push notifications), cloud storage providers (images)
- Legal requirements: When required by a court order or competent government authority
- Safety protection: When necessary to prevent fraud or protect the safety of users
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View your stored personal information (via the Profile page)
- Edit: Update your name, avatar, bio, and city in the Edit Profile section
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us
- Withdraw notification permission: Disable at any time in your device settings
7. Children's Data
Now Me is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When significant changes are made, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
