When you stop your diet you will in most cases even arrive more than before the diet. This creates the well-known yo-yo effect. When you have a healthy diet, the kilos that you lose will also stay away. With a good lifestyle you can lose about two kilos per two weeks. In the beginning you will lose more weight, because then you will lose a lot of fluid.
When you follow a diet, there are almost always important nutrients missing. You usually get too few calories. This is also called a crash diet. When you eat too few calories, this can have a bad effect on your metabolism. Your body will store the calories that come in as a kind of reserve. This means that you can even come from normal food. You also need vitamins, fibers and fats. It is therefore important to eat alternately so that you get all the necessary nutrients.
Easier to keep up
If you eat healthy, this is much easier to sustain than a diet. You also have more options to occasionally eat something tasty and unhealthy. This is often prohibited in a diet. If you forbid yourself something, however, it is very difficult to really stay away from it. For example, do not think of a white polar bear, you will not succeed. Make sure you eat three meals a day and choose three snacks. This way you will get less hungry. Many vegetables can provide a full feeling and you can also choose to take a bowl of yoghurt as a snack.
Exercising a lot is also important if you want to lose weight. This does not have to be an intensive exercise: half an hour of exercise per day is sufficient. For example, go hiking, cycling or swimming. Search and sport that appeals to you and where you will go with pleasure.
