I have never used an efile before. I am a home DIYer and thought this would speed up the process of doing my own nails. You have to have patience because if you try to go through the filing really quickly you can chew up your cutiles. Check out Nail Education Connection on YouTube it's where I learned a lot of great tips on nails. This is why I even purchased this efile. Her reviews really helped me decide what efile to get and I am glad I did. The bits that come with the machine are not great. You'll have to buy an actual real set of bits to achieve what you want. And make sure to keep either the bit spacer or other bit in the handle while you are storing or you can ruin the machine. Also turn off the machine when you are switching between forward and reverse otherwise you can damage the machine if the motor is still running when you switch gears. Better to be safe than sorry.

I just received this unit. I was skeptical to purchase due to reviews but went ahead and ordered. I’m not a nail tech but I do have a steady hand and understand this is something that requires patience - something that wasn’t found at the local nail salon.
It was neatly packaged, I read the instructions, used it at a low setting to shape the dipping powder I used on my natural nails. I did order a gold shaping but set in a fine grit so that I could get close to me natural nail and cuticle without overfiling (something I felt the nail techs were doing).
I’m pleased with it and glad I ordered. I feels that with anything electrical, regarding motor care, one should allow the unit to do its job. Purchasing the lower grit which is tougher aids in removing existing dip or acrylic. Using fine grit bits can really wear a motor.
One thing I learned from purchasing this kit was that filing and shaping is where the look comes into play. I took my time and after one hour of filing, I liked the way my nails looked. The best part was that my natural nails weren’t getting a ridge from the techs not using a safety bit to smooth and shape the slope around my cuticle.
I recommend the unit because it was exactly what I wanted. I don’t have to make time to get my nails fixed, I can do it anytime I want, day or night and save time and money this way.
It’s definitely one of the best purchases I’ve made.
