The support for Linux operating system for both the server cluster and the PostgreSQL database.
The improved compatibility with MS SQL Server 2005.
The enhanced performance and stability of the platform.
The new interface language options, such as Arabic, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
The new functionality for data exchange, data composition system, spreadsheet documents, and graphical schemas.
However, this version also had some limitations compared to the later versions of 1C:Enterprise, such as:
The restricted volume of data for various object tables, such as documents, catalogs, registers, and charts of accounts.
The lack of support for client/server mode, distributed infobases, COM connection, passwords and operating system authentication.
The limited printing and saving options for spreadsheet documents in 1C:Enterprise mode.
The unavailability of operations with the configuration repository and configuration delivery features.
The impossibility of having more than one concurrent infobase session.
Therefore, this version was mainly suitable for training purposes or for developing simple applications that did not require complex data processing or high scalability. For more advanced development and operation needs, it was recommended to use the newer versions of 1C:Enterprise that offered more features and capabilities.
