I try to capture the beauty and uniqueness of my subjects in a moment of time.
Nada Diwan is an artist residing in Austin Texas. Although her initial interest in painting occurred when she was very young, her talent developed into a more serious passion later in life.
Over the course of her experience, Nada has excelled in several areas, from portraits to natural landscapes, flower arrangements and other ‘still life’, animals and even icons. Her portraits emphasize the subject character and personality, evoking a true-to-life dimension. Inspired by the beautiful Texas landscape, her work in recent years has captured the Texas Hill Country. These landscapes, from rolling, verdant hills to peaceful seascapes, are vibrant with depth, movement and colors. Flowers are a particular passion for Nada. Her roses reach through the canvas, inducing thoughts of a warm summer breeze and the fragrances carried on it. The beautiful icons she painted for Austin’s Our lady Catholic Church inspire reverence and contemplation.
Nada's work also benefits from a range of experience in different mediums, from oils and acrylics to pastels and water colors. Over the years she has received awards and other recognition for her work and has participated in successful exhibitions around Austin Texas.
Nada is an enthusiastic supporter of art education, particularly early in life. Her viewpoint is that art education sharpens senses, teaches children and young adults to appreciate life more fully and it enriches their lives by promoting their individual talents, leading ultimately to a richer life.
