We just got the emergency notice from the University that our site will be closed tomorrow due to broken utilities caused by the winter storm. We will switch to virtual proctoring for our contest tomorrow. Below are the instructions:
1. What You Need (Required)
Before contest, make sure you have:
A printer capable of printing up to 30 black-and-white, single-sided pages
Enough printer paper
A computer or tablet with Zoom
A phone or scanner to scan or photograph your completed answers
A black pen or dark pencil for final answers
If you cannot access a printer in your home, you may take the test at another location (friend or family member's house, local library, etc.) that has a printer, or find other workarounds to procure a printer, etc.
2. Arrival & Setup
Join the Zoom meeting 30 minutes before the contest start time.
Use the restroom beforehand — you must remain on camera the entire contest.
Set up your webcam so that your face and hands are visible at all times, but your paper is not.
Do not interact with any electronic device during the contest.
3. Receiving & Printing the Contest
About 15–20 minutes before the start, you will receive the contest booklet PDF by email.
You must print the booklet immediately.
You must remain on camera while printing.
If your printer is in another room, bring your webcam/phone with you, or have a family member print and bring it to you.
4. During the Contest
You may not use or touch any electronic devices.
If you have a question, you may message the proctor privately via Zoom chat.
Do not communicate with other students in any way.
Plan to use the full 3 hours unless you notify the proctor in advance that you will finish early.
5. Submitting Your Work
When finished, scan or photograph all pages of your answer sheets (even blank ones).
You may briefly use your phone only for scanning.
Email the scanned answer sheets to the proctor.
Stay on Zoom until the proctor confirms your submission is complete and readable.
6. After Submission
Permanently delete the contest PDF.
Discard all printed booklets and scrap paper.
