Hello! My name is Vicky Erickson and this is my website/portfolio! I am a young theater worker as well as; poet, writer, artist, explorer and loving Mom. The feet that I stand on are my only limitation to my adventures. From hiking the Grand Canyon to building a theater set, I bring in a wide range of character, ideas and talents to anything that I progress in.
I was born on September 22nd 1998, in the hallway of the local hospital in my hometown. (There were empty rooms I was just too fast on them). I was born and raised in the small town of New Market, MN with having a population less then 6,000. In a 3 bedroom home it was a challenge most days with having 5 of us running around. I was the youngest for 13 years until my little brother came along; same day as me just 6 hours and 13 years apart. With us kids getting older and moving out on our own, I just know that I am going to always be the child that comes back to help my parents out.
With having a junk man as a father and an interesting idea maker as my mother I was never really the popular one at school. With wearing oversize clothing to never wearing makeup, I just was a normal student that always had a secret dream. I got bullied a lot through Elementary school for my weight and middle school for my weirdness. In High School it was the total opposite; everyone was scared of me. I fell in the life of creative forms when I was in 4th grade with my favorite grandparent passing away. It was always an emotional support for me. But I grew in loving it more and doing it more.
I grew up with an older brother and older sister. I have always been the smallest in every way compared to those two, and I still am even with my little brother. With being 5'1" and less then the average weight; it always has been easy for others to just throw me around like nothing. But that made me become this inspiring, insane, creative character that I am. I grew in learning how to protect myself and the ones I love through the hard years that I went through as a young adult and teenager; years that I wish no one will every have to go through alone.
With gaining more years and knowledge of learning what I can do myself it really brings out the best in someone. When I was only 22 I had my first born, and honestly I would never trade him for anything. He is my world and my sunshine. And with being a creative person I love spending time with my son as well as bringing him to work so he can learn as well.
With publishing my first children's book in January of 2021; the creating of illustrations and story platforms will continue through out the years.
As my son gets older, the more I push myself. To become a stronger person, a more solid human and to continue to show that I can do it as a single parent. He is my drive and purpose and I would never change it for anything.
