Board Meeting Information

Public Comment Procedures

Members of the public may submit written comments for the Board in advance of the meeting via email at board@seq.org. All comments sent in advance of the meeting will be shared with the Board prior to the meeting but will not be read during the board meeting.

Members of the public who wish to remotely provide comment during the meeting, use the Raise Handfeature:

Speakers must raise their hand during Agenda Item 8.1, the Public Commentportion of the meeting, in order to comment on topics not included on the approved agenda. To comment on specific agenda items, speakers must use the Raise Handfeature immediately preceding the item on which they wish to comment. Once your hand is raised, please wait to be acknowledged by the Board President who, aided by the meeting facilitator, will call on speakers. When called upon, speakers will be unmuted. After the allotted time, speakers will be placed on mute.

To speak about an item on the agenda please fill out a speaker card, indicate the agenda item, and hand the card to the Executive Assistant. When the requested agenda item comes before the Board, the speaker will be called forward.

As a Reminder--Board Protocols Regarding Public Comment

The Board does not act upon any matter that has not been agendized except under limited circumstances as permitted by law. It is the policy of the Board to refer matters raised in this forum to staff for investigation and/or action where appropriate. Board policy ordinarily limits the time to be devoted to any single agenda topic to ten minutes, and individual speakers are ordinarily limited to three minutes.  If the Board decides to expand the amount of time to be allocated to a particular agenda item because many speakers wish to address that item, the Board may reduce the time allocated to individual speakers to two minutes or to one minute, as appropriate, in order to permit more speakers to comment. The Board will announce the amount of time to be allocated to each speaker before public comment on each particular agenda item begins.  We ask all speakers to keep within the time limits.
