My Productivity Apps built the My Scanner – PDF Scanner App as a Freemium application. This SERVICE is provided by My Productivity Apps and is intended for use as is.

We do not require users to create an account, and we do not directly collect personal information such as:

b) Automatically Collected Information

The app may automatically collect limited, non-personal information through trusted third-party services such as Google Analytics for Firebase and Google AdMob, including:

• Device model, manufacturer, and operating system version

• App version and app stability-related events

3. Camera, Files & Scanned Content

• The app uses the device camera to scan documents and images.

• All scanning, OCR (text recognition), and PDF generation are processed entirely on the device.

• We do not upload, store, or access scanned documents on our servers.

• Scanned files are saved only on the user’s device in the storage location selected by the user.

• On Android 11 and above, storage access follows Android scoped storage rules and is limited to user-selected files and app-generated documents only.

• Photos and scanned documents are used only for app functionality and are not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking.

• The app does not provide cloud backup or file synchronization.

Your documents remain private and fully under your control at all times.

4. Permissions Used

The app requests the following permissions strictly for core functionality:

• FULL NETWORK ACCESS (Internet)
  Required for displaying advertisements, processing subscriptions, analytics, notifications, remote configuration, and consent management.
  Revoking this permission will limit the app functionality to local use only (no ads, notifications, or subscription validation).

• GOOGLE PLAY BILLING SERVICE (In-App Billing)
  Required for in-app purchases, such as subscribing to remove ads or unlocking premium features.
  Revoking this permission will prevent the app from processing purchases or subscriptions.

• CAMERA
  Required to capture images of documents using the device camera.
  Revoking this permission will prevent the app from scanning documents.

• READ EXTERNAL STORAGE
  Required to open user-selected images or PDFs from device storage.
  Revoking this permission will prevent the app from accessing images or PDFs stored on the device.

• WRITE EXTERNAL STORAGE
  Required to save scanned documents and generated PDFs to device storage.
  Revoking this permission will prevent the app from saving scanned documents locally.

• ACCESS NETWORK STATE
  Required to detect internet connectivity for advertisements, subscriptions, notifications, and remote configuration.
  Revoking this permission may prevent ads or online features from functioning correctly.

• WAKE LOCK (Foreground Service)
  Required to prevent interruption during scanning or PDF generation.
  Revoking this permission may cause scans to stop if the device sleeps.

• POST NOTIFICATIONS
  Required to notify users about scan completion and important app-related updates.
  Revoking this permission will prevent notifications from appearing.

• ADVERTISING ID (AD_ID)
  Required for displaying and measuring advertisements and managing user consent preferences for personalized ads.
  Revoking this permission may prevent personalized ads from being shown correctly.

Important:
The Internet permission is not used to upload or transmit scanned documents or images. All permissions are used only for their stated purposes.

5. Machine Learning & On-Device Processing

The app uses Google ML Kit for:

• Text recognition (OCR)

• Barcode scanning

All machine-learning processing is performed entirely on the device. No scanned content is transmitted to Google or to our servers.

6. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app displays advertisements using Google AdMob.

AdMob may collect:

• Advertising ID

• IP address (used to estimate general location)

• Device and ad-related usage information

This data is used to:

• Display advertisements

• Measure ad performance

• Prevent fraud and abuse

Advertising ID is used only for advertising purposes and is not linked to scanned documents or user-created content.

Users can opt out of personalized advertising through their device ad settings.

7. Subscriptions & Remove Ads

The app offers a paid subscription through Google Play Billing that allows users to remove advertisements.

• Payments are processed securely by Google Play

• We do not collect or store payment or card information

• Subscription status is used only to enable premium features (such as ad removal)

• Subscription management, cancellation, and refunds are handled through the user’s Google Play account

• Advertisements are automatically disabled while the subscription is active
