MySat ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and handles your information when you use our satellite alignment services and community forum.
1. Information We Collect and Why
To provide accurate satellite tracking, alignment services, and community interaction, MySat requires access to specific features and data:
Precise Location Data: We use your GPS coordinates to calculate the exact Azimuth and Elevation of satellites relative to your current position. This calculation is performed locally on your device.
Camera Access: Our Augmented Reality (AR) feature requires camera access to overlay satellite positions onto the real-world view, helping you align dishes visually.
Clipboard Data: When you use the "Smart Paste" feature, the app reads the clipboard to identify MySat-specific sync data (links shared by other technicians). We do not store or transmit any other clipboard content.
Account and Profile Information: If you register or log in, we collect your username/email address to manage your profile and secure your access to the app features.
User-Generated Content (Forum): The app includes a community forum where users can post technical notes, comments, or media. Content shared publicly in the forum is visible to other members.
2. Data Processing and Storage
Local Processing: All calculations for satellite positioning and sensor data (Magnetometer/Accelerometer) are processed in real-time on your device.
Local Storage: Any "Fixed Directions" or "Smart Sites" you save are stored locally on your device's private storage (SharedPreferences).
Cloud & Database Security: Account data and forum posts are securely managed and stored using trusted cloud infrastructure (such as Firebase) to enable community interaction.
3. Third-Party Services (Advertising)
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use service-related information (such as Advertising IDs) to show relevant ads. You can manage your ad preferences through your Android device settings.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
User-Initiated Sharing: The app allows you to share "Smart Links" or forum content with other users. This action is entirely manual and initiated by you.
No Data Sale: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal, location, or account data to third parties.
5. Permissions Transparency
Upon the first launch, MySat provides a Prominent Disclosure regarding the use of Location and Camera. We only request these permissions when they are strictly necessary for the app's core functionality.
6. User Rights & Data Control
You have full control over your data:
You can revoke Location or Camera permissions at any time via Android System Settings.
You can request account deletion or removal of your forum posts by contacting us directly.
You can delete local app data at any time by clearing the app cache or uninstalling the application.
