Recover with Breast Cancer

What is a Nipple Party?

Newly married, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 during my first pregnancy. It was tough. From 2007 to 2015 I had several surgeries. I had nipple tattoos applied in the summer of 2015. I decided to throw them a party.

Have Your Nipple Party!

I want to encourage other women to have their Nipple Party too and to tell me about it on the Facebook Page.

A healthy little Elona

Happy Couple!

Who is this bald lady?

I'm Dr. Sue Lawrence founder of My Nipple Party. I completed my PhD in Public Health during breast cancer treatment. My topic was risk and resilience in Israeli youth and one of the focuses was on post-traumatic stress. Post-trauma growth and resilience to trauma continue to be themes in my work and life.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 while pregnant with Elona who is healthy and vibrant little girl. After four surgeries and chemo-therapy, the final stage of reconstruction was having nipples tattooed over her mastectomy scars from Alma Boerland

Videographer Susan Jimenz helped me create a documentary of my experience. We will post this soon. I also wrote a book. It was narrative therapy writing it. Publishing it pushed me to become the writer I always wanted to be. You can buy it here:
