For a long time, John Paul II was the only pope I knew. The world was quite clear: there was communism where we lived, the freedom was on the other side of the iron curtain, and the pope was John Paul II. As I was growing up, the world was changing, but the pope continued to be John Paul II. Though, he was growing old. And I started to discover Karol Wojtyla, a young man, and even a boy. That`s why my visits to his home town felt somehow so familiar.
