Theologians dispute and discuss where the transfiguration occurred exactly. Was it Hermon, Tabor, or some other mountain? I would personally be in favour of Mt Hermon, a higher mountain would fit me better in the scene, but the tradition places the event on Mt Tabor: Jesus took Peter, James and John, climbed up and talked with Moses and Elijah.
"His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. ”
- Matthew 17,2
First visit in the middle of winter, early January days, but the day was rather warm after a storm that hit the coast. The fertile valley lay silently down below. As in the other places, I was almost alone in the church. Meeting hurds of sheep driving down the steep road. The second visit in the beginning of May, groups of visitors with African Christians who where shouting and "stoning devil" in their penance ritual. A beautiful sunny day, valleys were even brighter and more fruitful than during the first winter visit.
