ORGANIC MOTION,
for a Politics of Perception
- Research Document (Work in Progress) -
Organic Motion, for a Politics of Perception advances a theoretical and practice-based framework for conceiving cinema as an embodied organization of perception. Rather than privileging narrative structures or representational content, the book argues that films operate primarily through the shaping of perceptual experience - by structuring time, movement, rhythm, attention, and memory - and that this perceptual organization constitutes a political dimension inherent to cinematic form.
Organic Motion is articulated as a descriptive model of filmic writing, grounded in an explicit alphabet composed of symbols, inflections, and postproduction signs. This formal system enables the analysis of a film’s dynamic structures independently of thematic interpretation, rendering perceptual configurations legible as constitutive elements of cinematic language.
In response to contemporary tendencies toward the standardization and automation of formal practices, Organic Motion is proposed as a critical instrument fostering perceptual awareness and artistic responsibility within cinematic creation, scholarly research, and pedagogical contexts.
