Effective date: October 11, 2026
MyDataBasket is an iPhone app for tracking the basketball stats of one or more players. It is published by Christophe Roncalli ("the developer"). This page explains what data the app uses, where it is kept and how to delete it.
No account, no ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs.
Your data stays on your iPhone and, if iCloud is on, in your private iCloud. The developer has no access to it.
No data is sold, rented or shared with anyone.
Only what you enter yourself:
Players: first name, last name, team and, if you choose one, a photo.
Games: date, competition, opponent, home/away, score.
Stats: points, shots, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers, fouls, etc.
Preferences: appearance, language, active player, filters.
A player's photo is picked with the system photo picker: the app only receives the photo you select and has no access to the rest of your library. No photo library permission is requested for this.
The photo is processed on the device (the player is cut out and turned black and white); it is not sent to any developer server or third party. Only the processed image is stored.
When you save a game card to Photos, iOS asks for add-only permission: the app can add that image to your library but cannot read your photos.
On your iPhone, in the app's storage.
In your private iCloud (CloudKit private database), if you are signed in to iCloud, to sync your data across your devices. This data is stored by Apple in your iCloud account and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. The developer has no access to your private iCloud database.
The app has no server: the developer does not receive, collect or keep any of your data.
Your data only leaves your device (other than your private iCloud) when you choose to, for example when you share a game card through the iOS share sheet (Messages, WhatsApp, Photos…). That sharing goes to the service you pick, under its own terms.
You can edit or delete a player (with all their games) or a game at any time in the app.
Deleting the app erases the data stored on the iPhone.
To erase the data synced to iCloud: iOS Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage (or "iCloud Storage") › MyDataBasket › Delete Data (exact wording may vary by iOS version).
Because the developer holds no data about you, there is nothing for the developer to provide, correct or erase; all of this is done from your device.
The app can be used to track a young player's stats. It collects no data for the developer or third parties; what is entered stays on the device and in the user's private iCloud.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
