Belkin Setup Procedure

To provide you with the steps that make you have a hassle-free experience, we have divided the Belkin Setup process into two phases. To begin with, you will require executing a physical connection first. After that, configure your router on the internet network.

Phase 1 - Connect Your Router to a Modem and Computer

  • First, you have to unbox the Belkin router carefully.

  • After that, remove all the packaging stuff from your router. Make sure not to cause any damage to the device.

  • Also, take out its power and the network cables.

  • Next, disconnect the modem from its power source to proceed with the further process of Belkin Setup.

  • For this, you are required to unplug the power cable from the electrical socket.

  • Now, you are requested to link the Belkin router to the internet network or hook the same with a modem. For this, there will be an Ethernet cable available. You have to plug its one end to your routers WAN or the internet port.

  • Similarly, plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into your modem's port.

  • Next, you should connect the modem back to its power outlet by plugging a power cable in it and into a wall socket.

  • Side by side, connect the router to a stable power source to ensure an efficient and continuous power supply. You can use the accompanied power cable for this process. Plug the one end of the power cable to your router and the other end to an electrical bin.

  • After that, switch on the power button.

  • Now, push the power button of your router for Belkin Setup.

  • As a result, you will find the power lamp light being lit.

  • You have to ensure that the power lamp light is properly lit and does not blink.

  • After that, proceed with the Belkin Setup procedure by securely connecting the router to your system.

  • To establish such a robust connection, you must use the second Ethernet cable that you have received with the new Belkin router package.

  • Hence, insert one end of that cable properly into an Ethernet port of your router and smartly repeat the step by inserting the other endpoint to the system's Ethernet port.

Phase 2 – Configure the Belkin Router

  • Let's begin the Belkin Setup process by launching your preferred internet browser. For this, check your system's taskbar or the desktop for your favorite browser's icon.

  • Simply click on the one that you wish to choose.

  • Then, go to the address bar and type the default IP address of your router. It must be '192.168.2.1.'

  • Make sure that you make the correct entry to avoid further issues.

  • Now, hit the enter button from your keyboard. It results in opening the Belkin Setup webpage.

  • Now, a window 'authentication required' will appear where you have to input the username and password. There may be the case of auto-filled default information, which is 'admin' as the user.

  • However, the password box will be empty. Only you have to enter the same.

  • Further, click on the 'Belkin Login' option.

  • Then, hit the submit button to proceed further with the Belkin Setup process.

  • Thereafter, the screen brings up a 'lets connect to the internet' window. Here, you will find a notice stating 'detect my connection.' Hence, click on the same to search the available networks.

  • The window will show you a list of options for the connection type. Hence, make an appropriate selection as per your network details. If prompted, provide correct network details and click to apply the changes.

  • Later, the page may prompt you to provide the username and password for your internet connection. After doing so, restart the modem as soon as displayed on the screen.

  • As a result, the modem reboots itself and checks the status of the internet connection. Now, make sure that it displays connected.

  • Subsequently, the system will begin detecting the available updates.

  • To begin with the same, read the 'end user license agreement' and accept the terms & conditions to go further with the Belkin Setup.

  • Finally, hit the button saying 'install update' and wait for the process completion.
