Just when your baby will say those magical first words varies greatly from one baby to another. But normally they should hit certain language milestones at certain ages. If your baby misses any of the following milestones, talk to your pediatrician or family doctor about your concerns.

A speech and a language delay are not the same things, though they can overlap. A language delay means your child can say words properly but can't put them together in a sentence. A speech delay means your child can verbalize ideas with words and phrases but is hard to understand.

Hi all- I am trying to design a marco that can help users to extract the first N words. But struggle with the REGEX here. In my example below, I have "(^(?:\S+\s+\n?){1,3})" so it should show the first 3 words, but instead it will only show the first 2 words. Any idea why? I attached the workflow below. Thanks!

This looks like it was an awesome macro project! A very simple approach may have just been to use the GetWord(String, 1) and applied this to all value. The Macro could be then enable to dynamically update the number of words required. Just posting here in case other communities members find this helpful.

Acquiring useful language by age 5 has been identified as a strong predictor of positive outcomes in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). In Madison, Wisconsin, Dr. Jenny Saffran, a psychology professor at UW Madison, explains how human culture is so dependent on language and knowing the meaning of words. Dr. Saffran describes that word learning is central to language acquisition and that babies may be learning language by statistics, determining which words go together frequently. Dr. Saffran made up a language with a few words that have no meaning and created a stream of the words in random order, so babies can determine which sounds, and words, go together.
