This Privacy Policy describes how My Car Notes ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information when you use our mobile application.
1. LOCAL-FIRST DATA STORAGE
My Car Notes is designed with an offline-first, privacy-focused architecture:
• All vehicle data, mileage logs, expense records, maintenance schedules, and notes you enter into the app are stored strictly on your local device using a sandboxed SQLite database.
• We do not transmit, collect, sell, or store your personal vehicle records on external remote servers or third-party cloud databases.
2. DEVICE PERMISSIONS USED
The app may request the following device permissions solely to provide core vehicle tracking features:
• Location (GPS & Fine/Coarse Location): Used only when you explicitly tap to save your vehicle's parking location. Location data is saved locally on your device to show you distance back to your car and is never tracked in the background or shared.
• Photos / Media / Storage: Used only if you choose to attach custom photos of your vehicle or maintenance receipt images stored on your device.
• Notifications: Used to display local scheduled push alerts for upcoming vehicle maintenance intervals, oil changes, or service tasks.
3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & ANALYTICS
• My Car Notes does not integrate third-party tracking SDKs, ad networks, or user profiling analytics services.
• No personal identifying information (PII) is gathered or shared with any third parties.
4. DATA SECURITY & RETENTION
Because your data is stored locally on your device:
• Your data remains on your phone for as long as the application is installed.
• You can delete all app data at any time by clearing the application storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the application.
5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
My Car Notes does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. The application is intended for general audiences.
6. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
