Radial Design

Essential Question(s):

  • How does different cultures use art? What is a temporary artwork?

Targets:

    • Students will:

      • Find and describe lines in the environment and in artworks.

      • Create an abstract/non-objective radial artwork using lines, shapes, and color.

      • Explore the life and works of artists: MC Escher, Navajo sand painters, stain glass window artists and Tibetan Monks.

      • Critique my artwork and others by:

        • Describe: Tell exactly what you see ( Who is the artist? What year was it created? Do not use value word such as ugly or pretty).

        • Analyze: Use the elements of art and principles of design to reflect upon the artwork.
