Who are we? We are a group of students from several surrounding towns, including Lowell, Dracut, Tewksbury, Salem, Chelmsford, Pelham, and Methuen. We are lucky to be mentored by several engineers and professionals from several local companies including Analog Devices, Kronos, L-3, IBM, Amazon Robotics, and Middlesex Community College. Together we are 5962 - perSEVERE.

Meet Our Amazing Mentors

Position on the Team: Lead Mentor

Occupation: Software Systems Engineering Manager at Analog Devices

Bio: Mike is the President of Merrimack Valley Robotics, Inc, as well as the Treasurer for Cub Scout Pack 8 in Dracut. He is currently working on a Master of Engineering Management degree at UMass Lowell. He is a veteran of the US Air Force, working in the Air Force Technical Applications Center. In his spare time, he likes to...wait, what is spare time?

Jamie Woodhead

Position on the Team: Lead Mentor

Occupation: VP of Engineering at Senet

Alexander Brunelle

Position on the Team: Mechanical Mentor, Drive Coach

Occupation: Drafter at L-3

Bio: Alex is the lead mechanical mentor and drive coach for the team. He is a drafter at L-3 and an alum from FRC Team 166, Chop Shop. Previously he helped to mentor 166 before our team's existence. His favorite color is silver and his favorite food is spaghetti or anything Italian.

Mike Riendeau

Position on the Team: Mentor

Occupation: Sr. Software Design Engineer at Analog Devices; Treasurer of Merrimack Valley Robotics

Bio: He is a Senior Software Design Engineer at Analog Devices. He is an electrical mentor on the team. He is also the treasurer of Merrimack Valley Robotics.

David Satterfield

Position on the team: Electrical Mentor

Occupation: Chip Designer at IBM

Bio: He has been a chip designer for supercomputers for 30 years. A graduate of Tufts University, he has won the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, and holds several patents. In his spare time, he likes to listen to and play music and tinker with things. He also likes to go rafting on any body of water that moves. He loves his Hammond organ which he refurbished himself and Dr. Strangelove. He is the father of seven children.

David LeMasurier

Position on the Team: Software Mentor

Occupation: Software Engineering Manager at Kronos Inc. in Lowell

Bio: He is the lead software mentor. He earned his bachelors degree at UMass Lowell and completed his masters degree in computer science at Boston University. He was a software engineer for 21 years and has been a software engineering manager for the past three years. In his spare time he coaches soccer and spends time with his four kids.

David Polgreen

Occupation: Comcast Supply Chain Logistics

Anthony Iarrapino

Position on the team: Mentor

Occupation: Professor at Middlesex Community College

Bio: He is a professor of Engineering and CAD at Middlesex Community College. He was also an engineering teacher at Lowell High School for over a decade. He also worked at several companies including Analog Devices. As an Italian, he loves pasta.

Jamie Nicolas

Position on the team: Mentor

Occupation: Product Engineer at Analog Devices

Bio: Jamie is a Product Engineer and Program Manager in the Healthcare Imaging group at Analog Devices. She graduated from the University of Maine and has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. In her free time, she likes to swim, play disc golf, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and projects on her house in Woburn. Jamie is an alumni of FRC Team #58, the Riot Crew.

Casen Megna

Position on the team: Mechanical & CAD Mentor

Occupation: Student at UMass Lowell, Makerspace manager

Bio: He is a mechanical engineering student at UMass Lowell and an alum from Windham Windup 3467. This is his second year mentoring the team as a mechanical mentor.


Dan Whiting

Position on the team: Mentor

Occupation: Student at UMass Lowell, Graphics Major

Bio: Very good in fabrication. He is very fond of turtles. He knows how to use any tool and won't hesitate to act with them. He likes anime, manga, and hiking. Listen to him for a funny joke.

Pratheeba Thangavel

Position on the team: Software Mentor

Occupation: Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics

Bio: She is a software engineer on an advanced robotics research team. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her two kids and listening to music.


Greg LeMasurier

Occupation: Student at UMass Lowell

Bio: He is an alum from perSEVERE 5962 and is a computer science major at UMass Lowell.

Jack Kelly

Occupation: Hamilton Cabinets/ Student at UMass Lowell

Bio: An alum from 1153. He is studying mechanical engineering. He loves to mountain bike.

Emily Satterfield

Grade: 12

School: Lowell High School

Position on the team: Co-Captain

Bio: She is a student in Lowell High's Latin Lyceum. She loves her dog, Chip, and has a twin sister along with 5 other siblings. Her favorite thing about robotics is helping others to learn things they didn't think they could. In her spare time she is on math team, volunteers at FLL, and swims for her school.

Angenie Pang

Position on the Team: Co-Captain

Bio: She is a senior in the Lowell Latin Lyceum. After her first year on the team she realized her incredible skills in pulling things all together and making them suitable for companies and judges to see. She is also a wonderful business person.

Jeffrey LeMasurier

School: Dracut High School

Position on the Team: Mechanical Lead

Bio: He is a senior at Dracut High School. He loves to build things, especially robots. When he is not at FIRST, he is at VEX for his school or playing video games. He has been the mechanical lead for three years.

Yash Patel

Position on the team: Safety Captain

Bio: He is a member of the Lowell Lyceum of 2018 and has been a part of the team for two years. When he is at meetings he enjoys doing mechanical or planning. He always has a smile on his face and is laughing. He has a huge appetite, especially for chips. He also has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and swims for LHS. He likes anime and games.

Moruph Osuolale

Role on the Team: Electrical Lead

Bio: A sophomore Latin Lyceum student at Lowell High School. He likes robotics because it its interactive and engaging. He also loves gaming, computers, experiments, and relaxing.

Nate Polgreen

Grade: 12

School: Lowell High School

Position on the Team: Social Media Lead

Bio: He is a senior at Lowell High School. His favorite part about robotics is that it is hands-on. In his spare time, he likes to build computers and play games. He is also a member of Lowell High's crew and swim teams. A lifeguard manager and a swimming instructor at the YMCA and the city of Lowell.

Shivam Desai

Position on the Team: Business Lead

Bio: He is a freshmen at Lowell High School. When he is not at robotics, he enjoys playing volleyball. Though he has only been on the team for a year, he has shown great aptitude for fundraising and also hopes to join software.

Amanda Satterfield

Position on the team: Electrical Student

Bio: She is a senior in the Lowell Latin Lyceum Program. She has a twin sister who is also on the team and five other siblings. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano and is a member of Lowell High School's marching band and jazz band.

Annie KeLLey

School: Academy of Notre Dame High School

Role on the team: Mechanical Student

Bio: She was adopted in China at the age of five. She is consistently at the top of her game, excelling in her classes, and participating in many clubs including glee, bowling, acapella, book club, and more. She is in the second singles of her tennis team. She likes to watch movies in her free time.

Bio: Nicknamed Baguette in french class. He lives in Lowell. He plays Volleyball at Lowell High. He enjoys playing video games in his free time. His favorite subject is Math and is interested in the computer science and programming fields.

Vishwa Devisetti

School: Daley Middle School

Role on the Team: Software Student

Bio: She is a well respected member of the Knowledge Bowl in the Daley Middle School. She likes to read fantasy books and informational books. In her free time she likes to do origami and other arts and crafts. She will be doing Cross Country. She is a young student so she is open to explore the many opportunities in the academic life in the world.

Bio: A Latin Lyceum student who enjoys reading historical fiction and doing math on Khan Academy. He does crew, swimming, and track for Lowell High school. He challenges himself to pursue his passion for computer science and wants to work in software development.


Josiah Belfiore

School: Lowell High School

Role on the Team: Mechanical Student

Bio: A Latin Lyceum student, he is in his first year on this team. He is in the marching band and concert band at LHS. He plays guitar, bass guitar and percussion instruments. In the time he doesn't spend doing academic or extra-curricular work, he enjoys listening to and analyzing the melancholy work of the greatest band ever formed- Pink Floyd.

Aidan Galgano

School: Doherty middle school

Role on the Team: Software Student

Bio: He is 12 years, has two rescue dogs and is a twin. This is also his first year on the team. He likes chocolate, video games, and being lazy. He hates homework and chores. He has lived in four states: Iowa, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Massachusetts. He wants to be a video game designer when he grows up.

Bio: An international exchange student from Shanghai, China. This is her first year on this team. Interested in art, music and algebra.

Rickie Kasera

Bio: A Latin Lyceum sophomore at Lowell High.He is on the JV track team. He skis in his free time in the winter with his friends. He watches the Flash and other CW shows. He is also on Netflix. He is curious in electrical engineering and exploring many engineering opportunities.

Bio: Someone completely focused on his education, he has been interested in science ever since elementary, and has done his own independent experiments at his house.

Thomas Woodhead

Bio: He lives in Pelham. He plays basketball for his school and plans to be on Varsity since he was in all star last year. He plays piano and gets privately tutored. He won the science fair. He spends his free time playing video games and drawing.

Bio: David is a software enthusiast and hopes to pursue a career in computer science. In his free time, David enjoys eating food and playing video games. He is also a member of his school's football team.

Bio: Latin Lyceum sophomore student. A inspiring computer engineer. He is on the Varsity Tennis Team. Likes working out, playing tennis, and video games during free time. Enjoys learning new things and is adaptable. Curious on science and math subjects.
