ANIMAL CONTROL DEPARTMENT

The Animal Control Department in collaboration with other departments and offices is charged to enforce laws concerning the care and treatment of animals and to patrol public areas looking for potential signs of distressed animals and work directly with businesses, residents and visitors concerning animal control issues and/or to educate the public about animal control safety.

Furthermore, the department works to maintain public health standards by making the community safe for both the public and animals through responding to calls from the public about stray animals, suspected animal cruelty, or deceased animals and to detain and/or relocate them as appropriate.
