Short version: Muslim Daily works mostly on your device. We do not sell your data. We do not create accounts. The only network requests are to fetch prayer times and Quran content from public APIs, and to show ads via Google AdMob.

1. Who We Are

Muslim Daily: Prayer & Quran ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android application developed by an independent developer. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at: amesonix.prod@gmail.com 

2. Information We Collect

Location (approximate or precise)

• Used solely to calculate prayer times and determine your city name for display.

• Location is processed on-device and is never sent to our servers.

• If you manually enter a city, no location permission is used.

Prayer tracking & streak data

• Your daily prayer check-offs and streak count are stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences and Room database.

• This data never leaves your device.

App preferences

• Theme selection, language preference, prayer calculation method, notification settings, and the list of apps you choose to block are all stored locally on your device.

Data we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.

• We do not collect crash reports or analytics directly.

• We do not store or transmit your location to any server.

3. Accessibility Service

The app includes an optional Focus & Productivity feature that can remind you to pray when you open a selected app during prayer times. This feature uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect which app is in the foreground.

• The service only reads the package name of the foreground app — nothing else.

• It does not read screen content, keystrokes, passwords, messages, or any personal data.

• No data collected by the Accessibility Service is stored, shared, or transmitted.

• This feature is entirely optional. The app works fully without granting this permission.

4. Draw Over Other Apps

When the Focus feature is active, the app displays a prayer reminder overlay on top of other apps. This permission is used only to show that overlay. It is not used to read or interact with the content of other apps.

5. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalised or contextual ads. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how AdMob handles data.

Prayer Times API

Prayer times are fetched from a public API (Aladhan). The API receives your approximate coordinates or city name to return prayer time calculations. No personal identifiers are sent.

Quran API

Quran text and translations are fetched from a public Quran API. Only the surah/chapter number and language code are sent as query parameters.

6. Notifications

If you enable prayer reminders or Islamic event alerts, the app schedules local notifications using Android WorkManager. All scheduling happens on-device. No notification data is sent to external servers.

7. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data in your Android settings (Settings → Apps → Muslim Daily → Storage → Clear Data) or by uninstalling the app.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
