One, because we like our playlist fresh. Two, because we want to be able to say we knew-them-before-they-got-famous.
So, ready for some new tunes? Here are six acts we think are about to breakthrough this year.
Straight from Melbourne, Blusher is a trio blending electronic textures with shimmering pop hooks. Their tracks feel made for late-night drives or neon-lit dance floors, with just enough grit to set them apart from traditional synth-pop. After earning buzz with their EP Should We Go Dance?, the group has returned in 2025 with Racer, showcasing bolder production and more polished storytelling.
Born out of Netflix’s Building the Band series, 3Quency is one of the freshest girl groups to hit the scene in years. With powerhouse harmonies and a polished image, Brianna Mazzola, Nori Moore, and Wennely Quezada deliver the kind of radio-ready pop that balances energy with sophistication. Their debut single Top Down drops later this year, but early live showcases and studio snippets already suggest they’ll be a fixture on pop charts before long.
If you’ve been waiting for an R&B-infused girl group to shake things up, Psiryn is it. Formed by Kandi Burruss of Xscape, this trio blends modern soul with a nostalgic nod to ‘90s harmonies. Their single Sober made history as the first girl group song in over two decades to hit #1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart. With their debut EP In The Key of Us arriving this summer, Psiryn is proving that meaningful storytelling and lush vocal arrangements are still very much in demand.
Formerly known as SG5, Tokyo-based F5ve brings an otherworldly energy to their performances. With hyperpop and trap-inspired beats, they fuse futuristic visuals with high-intensity hooks that feel like they were designed for both arenas and TikTok feeds. Their debut album Sequence 01 has already turned heads thanks to viral singles like Lettuce and Underground, along with a surprise collaboration with Kesha.
Hailing from Washington, D.C., Pretty Bitter describes themselves as a “synth-pop gumball machine,” and it’s hard to think of a better metaphor. Their music slides seamlessly between dreamy shoegaze textures and candy-coated pop choruses, giving listeners a blend that’s equal parts moody and euphoric. Their third album, Pleaser, released this summer, cements them as one of the most exciting indie-leaning acts stepping into the pop spotlight.
Lena & Evan have mellow voices that blend seamlessly, creating modern songs built around piano-driven melodies and soaring vocals. Their 2025 debut album Calling Home introduced listeners to their warm, emotional sound, and they’ve already followed it up with Invisible, an album set to drop soon but available now to preview online. After standout performances in Nashville and Knoxville earlier this year, they’re quickly proving themselves to be worth a spot on your playlist.
Looking for more great bands to check out? Stay tuned. We’ll do this again soon.
