(RE) INVENT

The coronavirus pandemic has certainly changed the perspective for many people. This period allowed many changes and reflections, both positive and negative. In such a turbulent time, full of bad news, individuals sought to get to know each other better, reflect on their life and find time for themselves, to relax and not worry about the world outside.

In addition, the “quarantine” also provided greater contact with art, in all its forms of expression. People connected even more with music, musical instruments, social media, cooking, makeup, series, films, dance, painting, and many other artistic elements. The relationship with art has been intensified since there is now more time to stay at home and, also, because in many cases these activities are used as a form of leisure and distraction, so as not to focus on problems and bad news.

Besides, the pandemic period has also enabled many learnings in relation to technologies and new methods for work, study, leisure, and communication. It is a time of adaptation, in which it was necessary to change lifestyle and routine. In these times of great emotional instability, with ups and downs, sad and happy days, it was possible to show even more problems in the current society and new impasses have emerged, such as the lack of access to resources such as internet and technological equipment, economic difficulties, unemployment, social inequality, illness and death - whether due to corona virus or other complication.

Thus, despite being difficult times for everyone, it is necessary to take lessons and improvements from this period and always be grateful for the opportunities, reflecting on the people who were most unstable during the pandemic and recognize the evolution of each one as a human being in this moment of reinvention.

All of these elements were expressed in the comics, through short sentences, but with great meaning, and drawings made and painted with colored pens. The proposal was to highlight all facets of the pandemic, showing a lot of situations that are part of this pandemic time, in which many things got out of control, but others seem to have found stability.
