The Devil Is in the Details

MURRAY, KY -- The Murray State University Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) recently welcomed Erin Carrico, Director of the Murray Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), as this week’s guest speaker. Erin shared her expertise in event planning through her presentation, “The Devil is in the Details,” offering valuable insight into what it takes to execute successful events.

Throughout her discussion, Erin emphasized the importance of organization, adaptability, and attention to detail—skills essential for anyone pursuing a career in public relations. She provided members with a comprehensive packet covering every element to consider when planning an event, from logistics and timelines to venue setup for both indoor and outdoor occasions.

Students left the session with a deeper understanding of the behind-the-scenes work that makes events run smoothly and the professional standards expected in the PR industry.
