Canva Workshop with Kirsten Simpson

MURRAY, KY. --- The Murray State University Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) welcomed Kirsten Simpson of CFSB as the guest speaker at this week’s meeting. Kirsten led members through an engaging Canva workshop that highlighted how to make designs stand out, using only the free version of Canva.

During the session, students learned creative techniques including layering elements, customizing colors, using keyboard shortcuts, experimenting with fonts, and even transforming designs into animated reels. Her hands-on approach allowed members to practice these skills in real time and discover new ways to elevate their projects.

The workshop received excellent feedback from attendees. Freshman J. Blaire Champion, a first-time PRSSA participant, shared, “I’ve used Canva for years and didn’t know about half of the things she taught us! It was so helpful and I was eager to work on my projects!”

The meeting was both practical and inspiring, giving students tools they can immediately apply to academic assignments, club projects, and personal branding. PRSSA is grateful to Kirsten Simpson for her time, expertise, and willingness to share her knowledge.
