Elizabeth Thomas has served as Faculty Adviser to the Murray State Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) since 2010. A Senior Instructor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at Murray State, she brings more than 15 years of teaching experience in public relations, advertising, media literacy, social media and digital communication strategy. With a dynamic career spanning over three decades in marketing, media and public relations, she has held leadership roles in both agency and corporate environments—including Creative Director, Marketing Director, and Vice President of Editorial Services. She also serves as Star Trek Historian for the Smithsonian Institute, and has authored numerous book chapters and journal articles detailing the legacy of Gene Roddenberry and Star Trek. A passionate mentor and media strategist, she combines real-world insight with academic rigor to empower the next generation of PR professionals.
