Mudlet as a client to play MUME (Multi-Users in Middle-earth). MUME is a real-time, super-fast, funny, challenging and friendly multi-player role-playing game based on Tolkiens world.
MUME is a mud-game, text-based with an optional map (mmapper). This howto is based on using _both_.
There are many clients that can be used to play this game, among them directly from a web-page.
This page is a quick setup and howto using MUDLET to play MUME with MMAPPER
1) Download mudlet and set-up the program
Option - Preferences:
* General - Server-data-encoding: UTF-8, Enable GMCP
Game - play - create NEW game
* Profile name: mume
* Server address: localhost
* Port: 4242
2) download mmapper and set-up the program
Edit - preferences:
General - remove show client panel
Character encoding: UTF-8
3) Optional - download the pre-package mume settings, consider these still in Beta-testing
MUDLET - Connect to mume (but dont log in)
then go to Package manager
Find the downloaded old MUME package, remove this if you have the old one
If updating - do the same - remove mumemudlet and install the new mumemudlet package - restart mudlet after
THINGS IN RED IS IMPORANT!
Install: browse and fine mumemudlet.mpackage and install this. You're set to go. Remember to save profile after importing.

4) Log in and enjoy MUME
Updated packages will be made - you can do your own changes too of course.
If you choose to make changes - I recommend making your own folders so a new import won't disturb your own changes.
