Research Focus
Our research in Rubbers and Composites involves the development, application and upscaling of novel polymeric and rubber-based nanocomposites for use in drug delivery and industrial applications, respectively. These nanocomposites are carefully tailored to achieve a specific targeted application, which consists of the following, but not limited to surface functionalization, specialty chemical addition and innovative processing steps in synthesis and fabrication. This research area steers forward and bridges the gap between lab-scale research and upscaled manufacturing, emphasizing on novel material development with high commercialization potential.
Self-healing technology in rubber composites
Sustainable reinforcement technology in rubber composites
Laboratory to pilot scale glove manufacturing process upscaling
Nanocellulose processing as sustainable bio-based additives in polymeric and rubber composites
Value-added properties in end-user gloves from novel compounded latex formulations
Ultrasonic processing in novel functionalized polymer synthesis for drug delivery
