Vladimir Mukharlyamov is the William M. Scholl Associate Professor of Finance at DePaul University. The common thread that runs through his research is a focus on people—their actions and outcomes. This perspective applies whether he's studying private equity managers and their investment strategies, the decision-making of venture capitalists, or how past experiences shape human capital and influence careers. Vladimir is drawn to research in financial economics because it can be just as much—if not more—about people, their experiences and skills, and their impact on economic outcomes as it is about finance, money, and numbers. Vladimir's papers have been published in leading finance journals and have received media coverage in major outlets, including Bloomberg, The Economist, Financial Times, Harvard Business Review, and The Wall Street Journal. He holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University.
