Hello! I am Mukesh Gautam. I am a Senior Member of the IEEE. I received B.E. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Tribhuvan University, Pulchowk Campus, and an M.A. degree in economics from Tribhuvan University, Patan Campus. I earned my Ph.D. in electrical engineering from University of Nevada, Reno. Currently, I am a Research Scientist/Engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), where I am involved in and lead various energy storage projects under the hybrid and long-duration energy storage portfolio.
Prior to joining PNNL, I worked at Idaho National Laboratory for one year and at National Renewable Energy Laboratory for six months. I also gained four years of industry experience working on Budhi Ganga Hydropower Project at Department of Electricity Development, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation of Nepal, and two years of teaching experience at Kathmandu Engineering College, Nepal.
My current research interests include energy storage and power system optimization, power system resilience, artificial intelligence applications, and renewable energy integration.
