Despa's statement on the network situation after Storm Éoywn
Today, Friday 24th January, Storm Éowyn hit the county of Brecktonshire and definetly left its mark.
As a majority forested area, trees were found blocking roads like Forest Road, Cutlery Lane & Gillsmead Station Road. This greatly affected bus services and public transport alike.
We made the difficult decision to withdraw all services besides service 65/X65 which we kept running, to provide some link around Brecktonshire now absent of our other 10 services. Eventually we were able to restore the service bit by bit, besides services 44 and 62 which ended up suspended for the rest of the night.
Despa; Managing Director at Muirside stated: "It was a tough time for Muirside having to withdraw all our services but luckily our 65 held tight and we made it through the day. Thanks to everyone for your consistent support during Storm Éowyn, without our passengers' support we wouldn't of made it through, so thank you."
We thank all of our community here in Brecktonshire for your consistent support and understanding during this time, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused by Éowyn.
