Extension to our Service 64 from Sunday 2 February for Railway Link
On Sunday 2 February 2025, our service 64 will be extended to serve the new Kirkhall West Railway Station. Service 64 currently terminates at Zoo Lane; where bus frequencies will remain the same at every 20 minutes during Monday-Friday daytime, and every 30 minutes Saturday-Sunday daytime and evenings.
Muirside is excited to partner with Terrarail to bring a link between the new rail link and the rest of Brecktonshire.
Charlie James Gunn; the Managing Director of Terrarail has stated: "We were fortunate enough to be able to have a direct link between Rose & Kirkhall West; the Railway Operations Team are very excited to get things up and running, with the introduction of our Class 701 fleet to the line. We're always looking for areas to improve, and we're glad we've been able to accomplish this together with Muirside."
Service 64 will serve Kirkhall Main Street & Zoo Lane South before terminating at the Railway Station; located at the bottom of the main street. This railway line connects Kirkhall with places like Gillsmead & Lellywell.
Despa, the Managing Director and Group Holder here at Muirside Buses told us; "We're excited to unveil this new partnership with Terrarail, this is great progress for the transport industry here in Brecktonshire and we're proud to be a big part of it. Once again thanks Charlie & the Terrarail team."
The new rail line will be opening next month with Muirside being the major transport partner to the opening ceremony in Kirkhall. More information will be released soon in regards to the opening ceremony.
