Dr. Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. He received his Ph.D. in Communication Systems from Lancaster University, United Kingdom. His academic background also includes postgraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
His research connects wireless communications and networks with artificial intelligence, machine learning, localization and information security. He also works on electric vehicles, smart grids, and circuits and systems.
He leads the Communication Systems and Networks research group. His experience spans academia and industry, including industrial project management, power systems, and systems and network administration. He has also contributed to the open source ipgrab packet sniffer project.
