Hello, and welcome to my personal website!
Selamat datang di laman pribadi saya!
I am Muhammad Ardiyansyah, a mathematician with a passion for understanding biological systems through mathematical thinking. My research lies at the intersection of mathematics, biology, and computation, where I explore how ideas from algebra, probability, geometry, and algorithms can help answer questions about evolution, genetics, and environmental DNA.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Predictive Community Ecology Group at the Department of Biological and Environmental Science, University of Jyväskylä, Finland, where I work under the supervision of Prof. Otso Ovaskainen.
I received my Doctor of Science (Technology) in Mathematics from Aalto University, Finland, in 2023. During my doctoral studies, I was a member of the Applied Algebra Research Group led by Prof. Kaie Kubjas, where my research focused on applying algebraic methods to problems in biology, particularly in algebraic phylogenetics.
Before moving to Finland, I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia (2016) and my Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Bonn, Germany (2018).
This website serves as a place to share my research, publications, teaching, software, and academic activities. I also hope to use it to write occasional articles that present fascinating biological questions from a mathematical perspective, making mathematical ideas more accessible to a broader audience.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy exploring my work.
