Leaders

A Cub Scout Pack is built with the care of adult volunteers. Each volunteer undergoes a background check and is vetted by the Pack's committee. Each volunteer receives Pack-specific training in addition to the Boy Scouts of America's internet-based training for their position. All volunteers take the Youth Protection Training (YPT) at least every two years to ensure the safety of our youth.

There are two key focus areas of leadership in a Pack, Program and Administrative.

Program Volunteers

Positions include the Cubmaster, Assistant Cubmasters, Den Leaders and their assistants as well as Den Chiefs from local Boy Scout Troops. These volunteers are responsible for working with the youth directly and executing the pack's plan.

Administrative Volunteers

Positions include the Chartered Organization Representative, Pack Committee Chair and Pack Committee Members. These volunteers are responsible for managing the Pack behind the scenes. This includes managing the finances, planning activities, promoting the Scouting movement and recruiting volunteers as needed. Program volunteers assist the committee; however, they are not guaranteed a vote.
