We invite you to join us for a musical theatre master class for collegiate level and advanced high school musical theatre students in Ann Arbor at no charge. There will also be a short presentation on the summer musical theatre intensive Professors Goodrich and DeBord will be teaching at in the beautiful Italian alps through Music Academy International in July of 2017. This class and program are for advanced high school age students (Juniors & Seniors) through all collegiate levels.
Our focus for this class will be on 16-bar cuts. Attendees, please bring either a 16-bar cut of a golden age (classic) musical theatre song, contemporary musical theatre song or a pop/rock song. Everyone will have a chance to sing! Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Jason DeBord is an assistant professor of music in the University of Michigan Department of Musical Theatre, and supervising music director for Music Academy International's summer musical theatre intensive in Mezzano, Italy. He has a career in professional musical theater spanning over 25 years.
Most recently, he created new dance arrangements for the revised version of Lerner & Loewe's Paint Your Wagon at the 5th Avenue theatre in Seattle and Ordway theatre in St Paul. He was resident music supervisor for both the Broadway and National Tour productions of Once - The Musical, and cast the production of the show in Seoul, South Korea. His Broadway credits also include Shrek, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde, All Shook Up, and Rent. Other New York credits include Bare - The Musical, Fat Camp, Bat Boy - The Musical, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, Cathedral of St. John the Divine, City Center Encores!, and countless developmental productions of new works.
DeBord played and conducted the national tours of A Chorus Line, Rent, and Urinetown - The Musical. His playing is featured prominently in the 2009 Sony Pictures Classics release Every Little Step, and a he has played on multiple recordings for stage, film, and television. Regionally, DeBord has worked on new musical theater productions at the Old Globe Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, A.C.T., the Alliance Theater, and the 5th Avenue Theater.
From 1993-94, DeBord served as an accompanist in the Vocal Music Department at the University of San Diego; he has also taught at the McCarter Theatre, San Diego Junior Theater, and the American Theater Wing's Springboard program. He has performed two guest artist residencies in the theatre department at the University of Colorado-Boulder. DeBord has coached private vocal and piano students and provided audition training and master classes throughout his career.
Linda Goodrich (Director/Choreographer) is an associate professor of musical theatre in the University of Michigan Department of Musical Theatre, and is thrilled to be joining Music Academy International this summer. Goodrich has directed and choreographed throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan. NYC credits include Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall and NYMF. Other theatres: Goodspeed Opera House, PaperMill Playhouse, Walnut Street Theatre, Music Theatre Wichita, TUTS, Seattle's 5th Avenue, Sacramento Music Circus, the MUNY, St. Louis Rep., La Mirada, and Cincinnati Playhouse. Performed in Broadway and National tours of Cabaret, and staged European tour. New works developed, directed and choreographed:Little Women, A Good Boy, Gibson Fleck, Dance with Me with Graham Russell of Air Supply, and Hotel California with music by The Eagles.
