From August 8–10, 2025, Jalilah Sarip, a 4th year BSBA Business Economics, and Al-Gafar Mauna, a 4th year BS Economics, proudly represented MSU-IIT alongside fellow IITian Pamila II Pepito at the Champions for Peace Training on Resilience and Social Cohesion held at the Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City.

This transformative three-day program, organized by KRIS and the Kofi Annan Foundation, in partnership with Temasek Foundation, Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance, and the Diana Koh Fund, brought together student leaders from across the Philippines to engage in meaningful discussions, capacity-building workshops, and collaborative activities aimed at fostering peace, unity, and resilience in their communities.

By connecting with young leaders from diverse backgrounds, they shared experiences, exchanged ideas, and strengthened their commitment to becoming catalysts for social cohesion and positive change. Their participation highlights the vital role of young ekonomistas in shaping a future rooted in understanding, cooperation, and lasting peace.
